What is Resin Bound Surfacing?

Resin bound surfacing is a natural stone aggregate mixed with UV-stable resin and hand-trowelled to create a smooth, seamless finish.

But the real performance comes from what sits underneath.

We install a VubaMac reinforced permeable base, forming a monolithic bond with the resin surface above — meaning the entire system works as one flexible structure rather than layers that move independently. This is why properly installed resin doesn’t sink, loosen or crack.

The base cures quickly, allowing the surface to be laid the same day, and reaches full strength after curing.

What is included in this service?

Ground Preparation & Vuba-Approved Base Installation We excavate and prepare the area in line with Vuba installation guidelines, installing a suitable permeable base (typically MOT Type 3 or permeable concrete/asphalt) to ensure a stable, SUDS-compliant and long-lasting foundation.
Vuba UV-Stable Resin & Washed Aggregate Blends We use Vuba’s UVR resin system combined with kiln-dried, washed aggregates to prevent yellowing, ensure consistent colour and deliver a high-performance, durable finish.
Correct Mixing Ratios & Forced Action MixingAll materials are mixed using a forced action mixer to Vuba’s specified ratios, ensuring even resin distribution, maximum bond strength and long-term durability.
Full Ground Preparation & Engineered Base We excavate and install a free-draining foundation before installing the VubaMac polyurethane binder course — a reinforced base containing recycled aggregates and structural reinforcement mesh designed to support vehicle traffic and resist movement.
Structural Reinforcement LayerA high-strength reinforcement mesh is integrated within the base to distribute loads and prevent reflective cracking — something traditional tarmac or concrete overlays cannot achieve.
Premium UV Resin & Natural Stone BlendsWe install UV-stable resin bound aggregates available in a wide range of natural colours and textures that won’t fade, loosen or scatter.
